Changing your monitor’s resolution is a very easy thing to do, but some novice computer users have no idea how to do it! So, I’ve written up a quick tutorial for those that don’t know. This works for Windows XP users, but the process is very similar for the other Windows systems. Many computers come at a default 800×600 resolution, or maybe 1024×768. For me, this is way, way too big to do anything useful on the computer. Everything is giant sized, and you can’t fit much on your screen. 800×600 means you only have 800 pixels (wide) by 600 pixels (height) to fit everything you need on your screen. If you like to have several browser windows open for the Internet, or maybe your word processing document along with a few other things, everything all crammed into a small space can be quite annoying.

I run my monitor, when I can, at 1600×1200 resolution. This may make everything on the screen, including text, seem too small for some people, but it allows me to have tons of things open and be able to see all of them!

The first thing you need to do is go to your desktop. This is the screen you see when your computer starts up. Right-click your desktop and select properties.

The following screen will show up:

Click on the Settings tab. The following screen will appear:

I’ve indicated in yellow where the resolution slider bar is, as you can see I’ve set mine to 1600×1200 pixels. Some monitors only support certain resolutions. If you have a larger monitor but not many options, be sure to update your video card drivers. Usually you can do this online for free using the manufacturers website. Good luck and hope this helped someone out there!

Well the answer is simple, its called CSS (cascading style sheets). Don’t worry, you don’t have to know what that means to use it. Quite a few sites online offer easy-to-use forms where you can pick various colors for your profile and generate the necessary code. There is a nice tool on this site MySpace Profile Editor that has an easy to use form that will help you easily customize your profile.

MySpace Profile Editor Located Here

include(‘includes/googlead_middle.inc’);
