Silly putty was invented by accident during World War II, when American scientists were trying to create synthetic rubber. Now almost everyone is familiar with the amusing goo found in a plastic egg. It bounces, flows like a liquid (albeit slowly), stretches, and is sticky (so it’ll pick up pet hair, whether you intend it for that purpose or not).
